The Story

Casio UK’s staff were spread over 3 floors in their North London office. The lack of breakout spaces and dispersed design was making it hard to collaborate effectively, so Casio appointed Zentura to design and deliver a comprehensive refurbishment of their 15,000 sq/ft office. Zentura worked closely with the Casio team to create a design package that managed their brief and budget. The concept featured improved collaboration areas, an open town hall space, and an improved desking layout. The design made it much easier for Casio to work together on their projects.
However, due to landlord redevelopment plans, Casio had to relocate to a new office. We utilised our network of commercial agents to support Casio in finding and shortlisting a number of potential offices. We then conducted building analysis and test fits to see which would suit Casio’s needs best. From this Casio decided to move to the brand new Hive Building in Wembley Park. Once again, Zentura developed a design package that utilised the building’s unique characteristics to meet Casio’s requirements. By moving onto one floor and using modern multipurpose furniture, we reduced Casio’s space needs to 10,000 sq/ft. Zentura delivered this 10,500 sq/ft Cat B office fit-out in just 12 weeks. This included split demise works, advanced BMS integration and services installations. Throughout the project, close communication and accountability were maintained through weekly site reporting. As a result, Casio had full visibility of the project and peace of mind that it would be completed on time, and on budget. The finished project is a space that Casio can call home. The spacious, light aesthetic provides a welcoming atmosphere. Considered space planning enables focussed as well as collaborative working. Sit-stand desks and task-based furniture throughout the space encourage mobility interactions across teams, improving communication and culture throughout the company. The modern workspace technology throughout the space has enabled Casio to implement a hybrid working model, improving communication with partners around the world. Multiple audio-visual suites enable virtual and hybrid meetings. Smart access control, as well as bookable lockers & desks, mean Casio can utilise their space effectively. With a clear focus on day-to-day staff experience, Casio’s hybrid workspace has improved staff wellbeing and productivity. The highly functional communication spaces have improved collaboration throughout the company. Casio now has the environment to deliver the kind of original, useful products that only Casio can.

“The benefits have been a happier workforce. Productivity is better - happy people means more productive people. There’s a freshness about the place. Its light, and I think that works very well for everyone - makes everyone happy.”
